The FON Women’s Center & Maternal Health Clinic
The Friends of Naivasha Women’s Center & Maternal Health Clinic is a free standing building on the grounds of the Naivasha Sub-district Hospital. It broke ground in 2007 and opened in 2013 with 80 beds, two surgical suites, a neonatal ICU and an outpatient clinic. In 2015 construction was completed with capacity for 100 beds for mothers and 40 beds in the neonatal ICU.
The outpatient health clinic serves over 2,000 patients a month for prenatal visits, well-baby checks and immunizations, health screenings, family planning and reproductive education. In 2017, we officially handed over operations and funding for the Women's Center & Maternal Health Clinic to the Naivasha Sub-County Hospital.
New services available include cervical cancer screening, colposcopies, cryotherapy, LEEP procedures, and infectious disease screening. A laboratory and ultrasound machine is now available within the clinic for the convenience of our patients.
